Add your first machine: press Add machine on the Fleet and pick the way that fits. If you are not sure, pick "A server I can SSH into" when you can ssh to it from this Mac.
Optional: set up the observability server in Settings > Observability server. It keeps logs and long-term graphs. Skip it if live status is enough.
Turn on phone alerts in Settings > Notifications, with ntfy or Telegram. ntfy needs no account: one button makes a private topic and shows a code for the ntfy app to scan. The item ticks once ntfy or Telegram is on and has its topic or token.
Optional: connect your AI in Settings > Connect your AI, so Claude can read the fleet and ask before it changes anything.
Each item on the Fleet's welcome panel ticks itself when Vantage sees it is done. You never have to tick one.
Something not working?
The phone alerts item does not tick: it follows ntfy or Telegram being on in Settings > Notifications, not the macOS notification permission.
An item does not tick: press the item's button and check the page it opens. A tick follows what Vantage can see, not what you pressed.
The Fleet stays empty after adding a machine: open Add machine again and read the Done step. It says whether the first sample came in and what to check.
The welcome panel is gone: type Getting started in the search box (Cmd+K). It comes back until every item is done.
