Logs on this Mac

How to set this up

1. Open this page on a Mac. It does nothing on Linux.
2. Turn on the unified log. macOS asks for your password once, to let the agent read what you read.
3. Choose a level: default, or info for a lot more.
4. Write a predicate that keeps only what you need, or start from one of the examples. Press Save.
5. Lines ship to the observability server under the source "unified". Nothing is read until you turn this on.

Something not working?

• Nothing arrives: check that the observability server is installed (Settings > Observability server) and that your predicate is not too narrow.
• Too much arrives: make the predicate narrower or the level lower. At most 100 lines a second are read.
• To stop, use "Stop passing the log on". It needs your password.
• A LaunchAgent's logs do not ship: they ship only if you said yes when installing.
